Role purpose

To provide a child centred environment where the children are cared for in a safe, loving and stimulating way ensuring their individual needs are met within the group setting. To deliver the Teddies care standards and educational programme on an ongoing basis. To meet the occupancy and revenue targets set and manage all operating costs to ensure the continued profitability of the nursery. To deliver childcare in a way that meets parents needs and works in partnership with them providing high levels of customer care at all times.

Accountabilities

  • The day to day responsibility for the operational management of the nursery in line with the Teddies nurseries policies and procedures.
  • Managing the occupancy levels and nursery budgets to guarantee the profitability of the nursery.
  • To effectively lead and manage a staff team be responsible for all health and safety issues within the nursery to ensure that the Teddies Health and Safety Policy is complied with at all times.
  • To implement an effective liaison programme with the parents, the nursery staff, the HR manager and the area manager to ensure that child and nursery progress is communicated effectively.

Qualifications, training and experience required:

Essential

Desirable

NNEB, CACHE level 3, NVQ level 3 or equivalent

Yes

A minimum of 3 years' nursery management experience

Yes

An ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload

Yes

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines

Yes

Good time management skills

Knowledge of health and safety legislation

Prepared to undertake professional development, as appropriate.

Knowledge of OFSTED standards
